Space Wolf army

This Space Wolf army was supposed to have a Maori theme. In order to try and make it work in a tournament and general gaming environment as well as stick to the visual theme, I chose to combine the Space Wolf army elements with Maori designs for unit markings, patterns on the vehicles, and some other features such as Moko (tattooing) on bareheaded models and the use of red, white and black on details instead of the more usual red and yellow or gold.

The tattoos proved to be the weakest visual element as they just don't stand out that well against dark skin at this scale. However, the other combinations, although unusual, result in quite a striking look. In terms of the 40k universe, these guys would essentially be Space Wolves recruits that all came from a planet where Maori culture was the dominant one.

The tanks and the dreadnought look particularly cool with the designs all over them (most of the patterns are taken from carvings). The army is supposed to have a weathered look, hence all the mud.
