Tau army

The color scheme for this army is taken from the Tau codex, with blue-grey panels replacing the grey camo of the original. It's a really simple and striking scheme, particularly with the large areas of white. I used blacklining on the large models to emphasis the shapes, and used grey instead of black on the smaller models to keep it from getting too busy. The vehicles arrived pre-undercoated black, (as did everything else, but it was possible to lightly re-spray the other models), so the white was, um, interesting to do :-). I lost count of how many coats there are on there, but in order to keep it smooth, get it opaque, and not clog any details there are something like 20+ layers of thinned white on the tanks. I think there was some good tv on that night that made it possible not to go mad :-). I was really happy with the end result though, so it was totally worth it.
