Copper NMM

Step 1: looks rather like baby poo on your pallette. This is a good thing. Really. From memory it's a mix of VMC Flat Brown, a bit of purple and a bit of bright pink.

Step 2: no pics, because it doesn't show up well enough in photos. But you've started highlighting by mixing in a little of the bright pink and a little VMC Flat Yellow. Keep building up till you can see a difference between this and the base shade :).

Step 3: Mixing in a little VMC Flat Flesh. The shapes start to show up now, so it gets much easier from here on. So pic one shows the lighter shades at the lower parts of the mask, and also just a little bit along the top part. Pic 3 shows the horizon line on the angled cylinders of the, um, steamy bit. The highlights mostly involve adding flat flesh, and perhaps a little more pink and yellow if that looks a bit chalky.

Step 4: more of the same, but you should be done with the pink and yellow. Put those away.

Step 5: it's getting even clearer now, just keep building up thin layers of the same colour.

Step 6: pure flat flesh on a new pallette, looking quite close to the bottom pics...

Step 7: I'd usually use white, but I had run out, so used Pallid Flesh (vallejo) instead. Works as well. Just makes it sharp, and it's also the stage to pick out edges etc. Check out the difference between the gun barrel in the previous stage and in the last pic, and Sorscha's pick looks much sharper. My favourite bit though is the Warjack's mask in pic one, looks particularly sharp-edged.
