High Elf
This model won a Bronze demon at the Oz GDs, in the Fantasy Large Model category. Like the Warhawks, I missed a bit in the rules (it was in the general rules - I was looking at the specific category rules because there were size restrictions there as well!) about display bases. This one is too high for a warhammer base - it should only be 6mm, technically. I'm not sure anyone who used a base made it quite that low, but this one is definitely higher than that. Crap - only found that out for certain after the comp. There were, however, entries that placed on bases higher than the figure itself, let alone the base.
Anyway... on to the model. She's made from pieces from various figures, the main two being Valten (horse and legs) and Celestine (torso). The curved blade is from the Slaaneshi lord, the spear-head from a wood elf warhawk rider, the hand and forearm on that side is from the new Sister of Battle Canoness, and the pole itself is just a plastic bit off an old rhino running bar thing. The ribbons are greenstuff. The shield is made from two differently sized High Elf shields stuck together (greenstuffed and sanded a bit to fit more smoothly), with the wing from the Tyrion box set. Other bits are greenstuff - cloak, fabric over legs, litany-ish bits, various gems etc.
She broke on the way to the venue, which resulted in frantic fixin's at an outdoor table at a cafe (and some very nice coffee with vanilla, which calmed me immeasurably). Arm fell off, some chips, all round panic. Thankfully one of my friends (who won a Silver in 40k Single, go Richard!) had brought various paints. The colours weren't precisely right so I do need to de-yellow the tone of the brown on the ear-tips with some nice greeny additions to the base brown. But it was enough to fix it, and definitely better than shiny silver chipped bits.
Here she is (lots of pics):
