How cool is this model? The new lean and elegant hippogryph is sooo much better than the old chunky one! And it comes with a scenic base, and the wings are awesome and yay, yay, they're plastic... I love plastics. He doesn't come with a banner though, so you have to make up your own, which is a bit of a pain for me (although I would've done it anyway) because my 2d skills are less than stellar. The model is, to put it mildly, a complete pig to paint. I painted him in 9 pieces, and in fact probably should've gone for 10. This means lots of dry-fits with the pins to make sure you won't scrape off all the paint when it comes time to assemble him, a bit of pre-assembly greenstuffing of gaps, and much cursing and railing at fate when it comes time to assemble it all. But the model is so great that the aggravation was worth it (go that cognitive dissonance... no, it really is a cool model!)
